After my highrise BLM campsite near Escalante, it was down into a valley and then a climb into some beautiful, cool mountains in Dixie National Forest on Highway 12. About 20 degrees cooler and quite refreshing to be out of the heat for a short while. The scenery was very different as well. I believe these are aspens, which I hadn't seen since Colorado.
