Downtown Lebanon, Kansas. I had lunch in Ladow's. A café across the street had gone belly-up and stood empty, along with several other businesses.
Ladow's is a combination general store, grocery, hardware store and meeting place. I walked in hoping to buy at least the fixings for lunch, but it turned out they had some tables on one side where they served up a wonderful meal. I had stuffed peppers, new potatoes, corn, two huge slices of homemade wheat bread, blueberry cobbler and coffee for a grand total of $4.
