Just so we can save a few cents on the cost of a loaf of bread, small farms are going out of business--at the hands of giant agri-corporations. Small family farms can't compete with the major corporations, any more than other small businesses can compete with Walmart, and they are failing at an alarming rate. A very sad commentary on our country. Enjoy your sandwich.
