I returned to Split Rock light this morning to see if I could see the lighthouse from any more than 100 feet away. Conditions were much improved over the snowy, windy ones of the previous day. Later I dragged myself away from Lake Superior for the first time in quite a while--I hope to be back some day.

One of the things that has been reconfirmed for me on this trip is that I love to be near water. I can't envision myself living away from a body of water. There is something very calming and reassuring about water, maybe it's a primitive subconcious need.
